Recording Remarks:

not available

Length:

01:00

Location Description:

Morning, sunny, mild

Location Name:

Big Chain and Pigeon Island, Oak Bay, Victoria, BC

General Remarks:

Birds had a nest - 3 eggs on bare rock. Each little island had a pair of two or three birds (there were many Glaucous-winged Gulls in the main islands nest building and eggs were plentiful - but no young yet). This Oystercatchers "Alarming" was the main call we heard from them as they flew over us or past to disappear around the periphery of the island then reappear to sound forth from another rock promontory. Background: Glaucous-winged Gulls, water craft.
